Units that are turner off for the summer,should be serviced at the time of shut down. This will help keep heat exchangers from rotting and case iron boilers from plugging.
Make sure your home is insulated properly.
Fix any cracked or broken windows.
Keep the area around your oil burner clear of clutter.
Keep your thermostat set to one setting,unless you have a setback type.
Help your oil delivery person by clearing a path to your oil tank or filler location.
